Specialty Engineering Tools / Equipment

Evidence, not guesswork — high-resolution measurements that reveal what’s really happening inside building water and drainage systems.

H2WISE has specialised tools for fault finding, commissioning, and gathering real-world data — helping consultants, builders, plumbers, developers, and facility managers understand what’s really happening inside their systems. Through our technology partners, we can extend this capability into whole-of-life data gathering and rules-based control systems, allowing clients to continuously monitor performance, identify anomalies early, and make data-driven maintenance decisions.

With data comes knowledge — and with knowledge, design becomes informed, safer, and smarter. Replacing a failed component without understanding why it failed is doing the same thing again and expecting a different result. We use specialised diagnostic equipment and sensors to capture pressure spikes, flow dynamics, water quality, and transient events invisible to the naked eye.

In engineering, data is more than numbers — it’s understanding. When measured and interpreted correctly, it transforms unknowns into insight. Research by Josey et al. (2021) showed that water demand predictions in AS/NZS 3500.1 can overestimate actual flows by 217–326%, leading to systemic oversizing and inefficiency (read the paper). Meanwhile, Gormley et al. (2025) demonstrated that sanitary pressure transients can generate aerosols capable of transporting pathogens through building drainage systems (read the paper). Together, these studies highlight a simple truth: without measurement, design assumptions are blind.
